Position Summary:


Lees Marketplace is looking for a positive, outgoing and reliable leader to become our Produce Manager at our New Mountain Green location!. As a Produce Manager. you will oversee the entire function of the Produce Department. Responsibilities of a Produce Manager include coaching your team on how to properly stock, rotate and care for the variety of items in the department, maintain a flexible schedule for your team that meets store needs, and providing fresh and innovative ways for the produce department to meet their sales and labor goals. Primary Position Duties:

 
  • Develop maximum customer relations through a friendly and courteous behavior.
  • Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
  • Provides a safe, clean and positive environment; and consistently builds and supports a culture that is based on relationships and continuous improvement.
  • Has knowledge of and complies with all company policies, procedures, programs and directives. Refers to Team Member Handbook continually to ensure policies and procedures are followed. Promotes a harassment-free environment, and immediately reports any potential harmful situation to management.
  • Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department and store through training and education of self and other team members.
  • Attends departmental, store and company meetings as required; contributes to profits and revenues and meets productivity standards. Aids in the development and growth of team members by ensuring regular implementation of coaching, training, evaluation, and counseling procedures. Has sufficient knowledge to train the required fundamentals of the Produce Department.
  • Performs team member evaluations and any disciplinary issues effectively and timely.
  • Provides a professional example for other store team members to follow.
  • Establishes and monitors team member work schedules to ensure maximum guest service, productivity and efficiency.
  • Maintains effective control of department inventory through proper ordering, by guarding against waste and pilferage and maintaining adequate and appropriate department records. Maintains adequate supplies for department's needs.
  • Maintains effective control of product quality by continual monitoring of product appearance and maintaining proper stock rotation.
  • Responsible for gross profit, merchandising, preparing and displaying product within the set guidelines and standards. Maintains effective control of department sales, wage expenses and inventory within established budgets. Ensures department contributes to profits and revenues.
  • Plans aggressive merchandising programs for increased sales. Works with store management and offers ideas for cross merchandising with other departments.
  • Maintains an awareness of the department's competitive activity within the store marketing areas.

Position Requirements:


Experience: Previous produce experience and leadership skills required.
Minimum Age: 18 Years of age.
Lifting Requirements: Ability to lift 30+ pounds
Equipment: Required to use or operate pallet jack, forklift, wrapping machines, knives, box cutters, baler, two-wheelers, etc.
Physical Abilities: Regularly required to walk, stand, sit, twist, and bend; repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel or crawl. Lifting may include floor to shoulder and overhead lifting. Occasional use and climbing of step stools or ladders required.
Communication: Ability to write, speak, hear and understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to pages, requests, team members and guests. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.

Education or Skills:


Education: High School diploma or GED; or related job experience and/or training are required.
